Suns get Win in DC

The Suns won 104-88 on Monday over the struggling Wizards. The win for the Suns makes it ten straight over the DC area team. The Suns now stand at 14-19 on the year while improving their home record to 7-8. The record is good for 3rd in their division as they are 6.5 games back. The team does not seem capable of catching the Lakers or Clippers in the division, but could play spoiler from here on out as they do tend to surprise teams. This has been especially true this season as they have been very up and down.

The Suns got 20 points from Gortat who led the team in scoring. Frye added 11 boards to lead the team in rebounds. Steve Nash also contributed to the win by collecting 11 assist. The team started off hot scoring 31 in the first. They added 32 in the third, which was the most either team scored in a quarter on the night. The Suns did ease up in the end as they were outscored 27-19 in the fourth. In the first three quarter though, they outscored the Wizards 85-61.

Suns lose to Warriors

The Suns lost 96-102 Monday against a Golden State Warrior club that was led by David Lee. Lee and the Warriors fell behind early, but battled back to get the victory. The loss moves the Suns record to 12-16 this season while dropping their road record to 7-9. The Suns are have been just a shadow of their former selves this season and are showing that their glory years are done for now as they are rebuilding. That being said, they are at least playing competitive basketball.

The Suns were led by Marcin Gortat who scored 25 in the game and added 12 rebounds to record a double-double. Steve Nash also led the team in assists with 14. The Suns started off hot by outscoring the Warriors 27-20 in the first quarter. After that, however, they were outscored 82-69 the remainder of the game. They now find themselves in fourth place in the division as they are a game back of the warriors.
