Suns Soar Past Rockets in the Desert

The Suns won 99-86 against the Rockets in Arizona on Sunday. The Suns were led by Redd who came off the bench to outscore all players in the game. The Suns were sharp throughout and blew out of the gates to a quick lead that they kept throughout the contest. Phoenix is now 23-22 on the season and has a 15-10 record at home this year.

The Suns got 25 points off the bench from Redd who ended the game scoring more than all scorers from either team. Veteran Steve Nash led in assist, as he usually does, with 11. Gortat also contributed to the victory by grabbing 10 rebounds. The Suns outscored the Rockets 26-13 in the first quarter, which ultimately turned out to be the reason they won the game. This is particularly true as they ended up winning the game by 13, which was the same difference between the games after the first.

The Rockets move their record to 24-22 following the loss and are 8-16 in games away from home. Scola led the team in points with 18 in the contest. The team also got contributions from Dragic who led the team in assist with 8 and Camby who led the team in rebounds with 8. The Rockets were great following the horrible 13-point first. After that quarter, they were able to score 20 plus in each of the last three periods. In the end, it was not enough as the thirteen points held and the Rockets were handed the loss.
