The Suns won 113-111 against the Pacers on Friday in Indiana. The team continues to thrive as they play spoiler to teams that are more in the hunt for the playoffs. That trend continued as the Suns were able to escape Indiana with a win against a Pacer team that has looked poised to make the playoffs. The Suns are now an even 24-24 on the season while they improved their away record to 9-14.
Gortat was critical for the Suns victory on Friday as he did well on both ends of the court. Gortat led the team in points with 23 and added 8 rebounds which also led the squad. Veteran Steve Nash had 17 huge assists as well to help contribute to the win. The team fell behind early as they were outscored 61-54 in the first half. They swung the game wide open in the third quarter when they outscored the Pacers 32-18 though and used that momentum to hold on in the fourth. The team shot very well on the night and scored over 25 points in every quarter.
The Pacers also shot well as they scored 30 plus in each quarter minus the third which ultimately cost them the game. Granger led all scorers, and the pacers, with 28 points. West also added 8 rebounds for the team while Collison had 7 assists to try and help get the win. In the end, it was all not enough as the team moves their record to 27-19 on the season and are now 14-7 while at home.
