D-backs complete sweep in double-header

The Diamondbacks and Marlins played their second game of a double-header Wednesday in Arizona where the d-backs were able to win a second straight game. The d-backs improve to 64-61 with the win and are probably hoping they could play the Marlins everyday. The team blanked the Marlins 3-0 in game 2 of the double-header with a very strong pitching performance. The double-header was missing offense from both teams, but Miami in particular.

Arizona got 7 hits in all and was able to score early getting a run across in the bottom of the first inning. Miley started for Arizona and was very dominant as he allowed few hits and no runs. Miley is now 14-8 overall this season. Putz came in late to close out the game for Arizona and was able to get his 2nd save of the day and 26th of the year for the D-backs.

Miami continued their drop into baseball’s abyss with the loss and will be looking to find new ways to rejuvenate the team in the offseason. The bright new colors and stadium seemed to be effective for awhile, but quickly the team fell back into their old habits and the losses began to pile up. Miami had just 5 hits in the second game and ten hits total in the double-header. LeBlanc started for the Marlins and was credited with the loss. He is now 2-3 overall this season.
